Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to enter?
Entry for the 6k route is £20 and entry for the 12k route is £25. All entries are non-refundable.
What is the sponsorship target?
By signing up to take part you pledge to raise a minimum of £150 (for the 6k route) or £175 (for the 12k route).
How can I raise money?
Saint Francis Hospice will support you every step of the way on your fundraising journey. We recommend getting your fundraising started right away by setting up your JustGiving page. Then share your page with your friends and family and watch the donations start rolling in!
To boost your fundraising further, we can provide you with lots of other materials such as hampers to raffle off, quiz packs to enable you to hold your very own quiz and collection tins and buckets for your workplace.
Is there a minimum age to take part?
Minimum age for the 6k is 13 years (3-15 years must be accompanied by an adult)
Minimum age for the 12k is 16 years
What should I wear?
Wear fast-drying, breathable fabric t-shirts/base-layer/tights/shorts that you are happy to get VERY dirty and wet (technical fabric t-shirts are brilliant).
Remember cotton gets heavy & cold when wet, skin dries quickest, less is more! Tie laces on trainers tightly otherwise they will get sucked into the mud (the bigger the grip the better, strictly NO studs or spikes).
Also bring with you a change of clothes, shoes & towel. A few black bin bag(s) for your post race wet kit is a good idea!
Do I need to be able to swim?
Some swimming ability will help but you do not need to be able to swim. At the Rush/Fallout Lake Zone there are buoyancy vests available & a water safety team in & out of the water
