Everyone deserves the best quality of care and Evelyn Asiam has dedicated her career to ensuring people who are seriously unwell can live as well as they can.

We’re proud Evelyn was part of our nursing team for almost 20 years. Evelyn joined the hospice as a Senior Nurse on the Ward in 1996 and later became the Team Leader. In 2001 she became a specialist nurse with the community team.

In 2016 she left Saint Francis Hospice to work for Barking, Havering and Redbridge Hospitals University Trust as her sister was diagnosed with lung cancer and she wanted to learn as much as possible to be able to support her.

“I was at the hospice for such a long time that it was like a second home to me,” said Evelyn. “ I have always been passionate about palliative care. My whole career has been in palliative care because I want to help people who are poorly to have a quality of care and to be there for them and their families.”
