COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Advice

The UK Government is closely monitoring the spread of the Coronavirus and is taking action at home and abroad. The overall risk of Coronavirus to the UK remains moderate, with the risk to individuals low.

Saint Francis Hospice would like to reassure patients, families, friends and supporters that we are working on business continuity plans to ensure that the Hospice remains open. We will continue to monitor the situation and follow the latest published advice.

Please do not visit the Hospice, attend any of our events or activities, or visit any of our retail charity stores if you have returned back from China or other affected within the last 14 days, or had contact with somebody with Coronavirus. The list of countries is available here.

When entering Saint Francis Hospice, please ensure you use the hand sanitiser gel provided at reception and around the Hospice and regularly wash your hands with soap and water.

Advice for visitors of in-patients during COVID-19

We are asking visitors to respect the new limit of one visitor at the bedside at any one time. And where possible please consider keeping in touch via phone or video calls.

The visiting window is between 10:00am and 8:00pm, but please could we ask that the visiting time is restricted to 2 hours per visitor per patient.

We understand that circumstances may prevail this in certain situations. Please do not visit if you are:

      - unwell, especially if you have a high temperature or a new, persistent cough.
      - vulnerable as a result of your medication, a chronic illness or if you are over 70 years of age.

Again, please remember to wash your hands and apply alcohol gel as you enter the Hospice, before you enter the ward. This is for your safety, your loved ones and our staff.
